Have you ever wanted a place to share your thoughts and opinions? What about a platform to connect with others? Earn extra money? Well, a blog is a great place to do all of that. Read on to learn how to setup a WordPress blog using SiteGround.
Why Start A Blog?
There are so many reasons that people start a blog. Blogging gives you the ability to document the progress your making, it gives you the means to earn money and it allows the information that you share to help others. You can even use blogging to form business relationships and get sponsored by different companies.
My own story is simple. I started blogging to keep myself accountable for my health and finances. Documenting and tracking my progress has helped to keep me motivated and on track. I have always loved helping people and sharing the information on the blog has allowed me to do that.
I have created a step-by-step tutorial showing you how to start a blog on WordPress using SiteGround hosting.
Navigate over to SiteGround and click the”Sign Up” button.
1. Choose your hosting plan
SiteGround offers 3 different plans to choose from.
The StartUp Plan is great for people with one website and just starting out.
The GrowBig Plan is a great value! This plan is good for those with multiple websites and the SuperCacher greatly improves WordPress and Joomla website speeds.
The GoGeek Plan is perfect for people with e-commerce and larger sites, or more geeky development needs like staging and GIT integration.
All 3 plans offer 24/7 amazingly fast support via phone, chat & tickets.
Step 2. Choosing Domain
Once you have picked a hosting plan, it’s time to register a domain name. Enter your domain name and click proceed. SiteGround even offers free website transfer.
Step 3. Review and Complete
Now that you have picked your hosting plan and domain name, you will be directed to the Review & Complete area where you will input account, client, payment and purchase information.
Enter in all your information and click Pay Now.
I recommend Domain Privacy so that you can protect your personal information from becoming public. Domain Privacy keeps it safe.
Account Created! Now that you have setup hosting with SiteGround, your account is created and we can go set up WordPress!
Install WordPress on SiteGround
Now that your hosting account is set up, let’s get you set up with WordPress through this step-by-step tutorial.
Navigate to the My Accounts tab at the top. Once there, click on the red button called “Go to cPanel”.
Find the WordPress Tools area and click on the blue WordPress Installer icon.
Click on the Install tab and fill out the information.

It is a beautiful feminine theme with many features. I love it!
